Smithlexiconchambers

Terms of Use

Terms governing access to and use of the Smithlexiconchambers website, consultation booking tools, client accounts, orders, and portal features.

1. Acceptance and Scope of These Terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Smithlexiconchambers ("Westbridge", "the firm", "we", "us", or "our") website, public informational pages, consultation request tools, client accounts, and online portal features. By accessing or using this website or registering an account, you agree to comply with these Terms.

These Terms govern website and portal usage only. They do not constitute a legal engagement agreement and do not establish an attorney-client or lawyer-client relationship. Legal representation begins only if and when the firm expressly accepts your matter and both parties agree to separate written engagement terms.

2. General Information and No Reliance

All articles, practice-area overviews, Trust & Will plan descriptions, frequently asked questions, and other materials published on this website are provided solely for general informational purposes:

  • Website content is not tailored to your individual circumstances and must not be relied upon as legal advice or as a substitute for qualified legal counsel.
  • Published descriptions of practice areas, services, and plan tiers are informational summaries. Actual scope, suitability, pricing, and timelines are always subject to formal conflict checks, intake review, and written confirmation by the firm.
  • Nothing on this website guarantees or predicts any specific legal result or outcome.

3. Client Accounts, Email OTP Verification, and Security

Certain features of our platform require you to register and verify a client account:

  • Registration and Verification: You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating an account. Account activation and certain security actions require verifying your email address using a one-time verification code (OTP) sent to your registered email.
  • Account Credentials: You are responsible for safeguarding your password, email inbox, and session access. You must notify the firm immediately if you suspect any unauthorized use of your account.
  • Account Ownership: Enquiries, consultation requests, and orders placed while signed in are associated with your authenticated account. Guest enquiries submitted without signing in are not automatically linked to an account simply because they share the same email address.

4. Contact Enquiries and Consultation Booking

Our website provides forms for general enquiries and initial consultation requests:

  • Initial Submissions: When requesting a consultation, you select a practice area, choose from available calendar slots (displayed and recorded in UTC), and provide a brief summary of your matter. Please keep initial descriptions concise and do not attempt to submit confidential or sensitive documents through initial public forms.
  • Availability, Rescheduling, and Cancellation: Selecting a calendar slot reserves that time for initial review and administrative coordination, but every consultation request remains subject to firm review, conflict screening, and schedule confirmation. Depending on the status of your booking, you or the firm may reschedule or cancel a requested consultation slot through the platform's scheduling tools or by direct communication.
  • No Automatic Representation: Submitting a contact message, booking a consultation slot, or receiving an automated receipt confirms only that your request was logged in our system; it does not obligate the firm to accept your matter or attend a consultation where a conflict or scheduling issue exists.

5. Trust & Will Plans, Legal-Service Orders, and Payments

The platform displays informational Trust & Will plans and may allow registered users to submit plan enquiries or legal-service orders:

  • Enabled Payment Methods: When online ordering is enabled for a service, the platform may support manual bank transfers (with payment reference and proof upload), cryptocurrency payments (with network and transaction proof details), or automatic payment gateway checkouts, depending on the payment methods currently enabled by the firm.
  • Payment Status vs. Legal-Service Progress: Payment status and legal-service delivery are tracked separately. Completing a checkout, uploading proof of payment, or receiving a payment confirmation records the financial status of your order or invoice, but does not mean legal representation has begun or that legal documents have been drafted or approved. Legal work proceeds only after payment verification, conflict clearance, completion of required intake steps, and confirmation of applicable engagement terms.
  • Invoices and Reconciliations: All orders and payments are subject to verification and reconciliation by the firm. Display prices and plan inclusions on public pages are subject to confirmation before formal engagement.

6. Questionnaires, Support Tickets, and Private Client Documents

Authenticated users may be provided access to structured portal tools within their client dashboard:

  • Questionnaires: Where assigned to your account or order, questionnaires allow you to supply structured intake information. You are responsible for ensuring that all information submitted in a questionnaire is accurate and complete.
  • Support Tickets and Communications: Registered clients may open and reply to support tickets to communicate with firm staff regarding account questions, scheduling, orders, or administrative support.
  • Private Client Documents: Firm staff may upload private documents or deliverables to your account for authorized download. Access to these files is restricted to the authorized account holder. You may not share your account credentials or attempt to access documents belonging to any other person.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree to use this website and client portal lawfully and responsibly. You must not:

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any user account, administrative panel, private document storage, server, or database;
  • Interfere with the security, availability, or normal operation of the website, scheduling calendar, or payment workflows;
  • Submit false, misleading, defamatory, or unlawful information, or impersonate any person or entity;
  • Upload malicious code, automated scraping scripts, or files that you do not have the legal right to provide;
  • Use the website or portal in a manner that violates applicable laws or the rights of third parties.

8. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise indicated, the design, text, graphics, layout, branding, and software code of this website are the intellectual property of Smithlexiconchambers or its licensors. You may view and print public pages for your personal, non-commercial informational use in evaluating our services, provided you do not modify the content or remove any proprietary notices. You may not reproduce, republish, distribute, or commercially exploit any portion of this website without our prior written consent.

9. Limitation of Website Reliance and Availability

This website and its portal features are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While we aim to maintain accurate content and reliable access, we do not warrant that the website will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for any urgent legal deadline. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Smithlexiconchambers disclaims liability arising from your reliance on general website content or from temporary unavailability of the website, scheduling calendar, or portal features. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any professional duty or liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law or under a separate written engagement agreement.

10. Suspension, Termination, and Updates

We reserve the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate access to any client account or portal feature if we reasonably believe these Terms have been violated, if account security is compromised, or if necessary to protect our systems and users. We may update these Terms periodically by publishing the revised version on this page. For questions regarding these Terms, please contact us through our Contact Us page.
